ASU Business Process Map Generator
Create a clean ISO-style business process map using numbered process steps, decision points, branches, and continuation symbols.
How to Enter Your Process
Regular process steps
- Enter one process step per line
- Begin every line with a unique step number followed by a period
- Use an action verb such as Receive, Review, Enter, Submit, Approve, or Archive
- Periods at the end of steps are removed automatically
1. Receive the agreement request
2. Enter the request into the tracking system
3. Assign the request to a team member
Decision steps
Begin a decision with [Decision], then identify the first step in each branch and the step where the branches reconnect.
2. [Decision] Is the request complete? | Yes: 3 | No: 5 | Merge: 7
In that example:
- The Yes branch contains Steps 3–4
- The No branch contains Steps 5–6
- Both branches reconnect at Step 7
- Yes, No, and Merge must point to later steps
- Branch steps must be grouped together before the merge step
- Decision branches may contain multiple regular process steps
- You may use multiple decision diamonds throughout the process
